Clayta G. Lawhorn, 1917-2003, Warsaw

Clayta Grace Lawhorn, 86, of Warsaw, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Smithville.

She was born Jan. 10, 1917, in Kansas City, a daughter of Clayton and Nancy Jane Barr Roberson. On Aug. 17, 1934, she was married to Othal "Tom" Lawhorn, who died Dec. 2, 1985.

Mrs. Lawhorn grew up and attended high school in Kearney. After marriage, the family farmed in Kearney before moving to Warsaw in 1965. She was a member of the River Church in Warsaw. She loved to sew, making clothes for family and friends, and enjoyed crocheting and quilting.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Lawhorn, of Warsaw, Tommy Lawhorn, of Kearney, and Ronald Lawhorn, of Smithville; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the River Church in Warsaw, with the Rev. Sam Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.
